Description:
A census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated town in southern Los Angeles County, California, East Compton is also known by other names.
Places to go:
East Rancho Dominguez County Park: Situated north of Long Beach and between the cities of Compton and Paramount, the East Rancho Dominguez Park & Community Center is part of the unincorporated region of the same name in LA County. The production and installation of the artwork happened at the same time as a new community center was built at the park, connected to the gymnasium and leisure facility. The new community center's larger, better area has developed into a bustling focus for social events for people of all ages. In order to offer services including case management, utility assistance, health education, and food distribution, the center also collaborates with County agencies and charitable groups.
Library: East Rancho Dominguez The library was opened for service on March 17, 1952, for thirteen hours a week with a collection totaling 4,860 books. At that time it was the fastest growing library in the Los Angeles County Public Library’s 43-year existence and for that reason the library was relocated to 4205 East Compton Blvd on October 17, 1955.
