Compton

The city of Compton and one of the oldest ones in LA county and also known as the city Hub due to its geographical location begin in the middle of the LA county area.

History: Constructed in 1869, the Heritage House is recognized as a State Historic Landmark. This is Compton's oldest home, rebuilt as a memorial to the town's pioneers. 

Landmarks: Since 1858, the Eagle Tree has served as Rancho San Pedro's natural border marker. The Daughters of the Golden West erected a historic monument and plaque there in 1947. 

Memorial: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is honored by this monument located at the Civic Center. Compton Court House, Compton City Hall, Compton Public Library, and Civic Center around it.
