Within the Los Angeles metropolitan region, Bellflower is a city in southeast Los Angeles County, California. It was formed on September 3, 1957, having been created in 1906. Originally established by Dutch, Japanese, and Portuguese dairy farmers, Bellflower and nearby Paramount served as Southern California's apple and subsequently milk production centers. After being founded in 1957, Bellflower slowly underwent a metamorphosis from an agricultural center to a residential suburb. The major thoroughfare of the city, Bellflower Boulevard, was a hive of activity during the 1950s and early 1960s, when it came to shopping.

Parks: Bellflower has a number of parks available for your enjoyment. Pirate park in it is great for small imaginary enjoyment , although John S. Simms Park has more peaceful activities like grilling and using the baseball or basketball courts.
Library: For over a century, the Clifton M. Brakensiek Library has provided services to the Bellflower neighborhood. March 11, 1914, marked the opening of the first branch. Since then it has been a place for reading wonderland
